Why won’t my MSI BIOS save the Maximum Security setting?

I'm having a frustrating issue with my MSI motherboard BIOS settings. Every time I go in to enable secure boot, disable fast boot, and set the security level to maximum security, I save the changes with F10 and everything looks good. However, when I check back later, only the secure boot and fast boot settings are actually saved, while the maximum security setting always reverts to the previous state. I've already reset the CMOS, swapped out the battery, and tried updating the BIOS in several ways, but nothing seems to work. Has anyone else dealt with this issue on MSI boards? Am I overlooking something crucial?

Honestly, BIOS on these consumer boards can be pretty unreliable. The maximum security option is just a preset; if you change any setting at all, it switches to 'custom,' which is really frustrating. There's a history of issues with their BIOS—like mishandling secure boot and even wiping out passwords. It's probably best to ignore that maximum security setting because it might not be doing what you think.

I hear you, but I'm trying to enable it for a specific reason, so that's not much help.
