I just installed a new Z790 Tomahawk motherboard, but I'm having trouble getting it to boot. I've connected the 24-pin and the two 8-pin connectors from the PSU, but nothing happens when I try to power it on. I did a PSU paperclip test, and that works fine, so it's not the power supply. I also checked the CPU seating and noticed a few pins that look a bit off. Could this be why it won't boot? I've disconnected all fans and extra cables, and even tried jumping the JFP1 power pins with a screwdriver, but still no luck. Here are some images showing the CPU pins and a different angle of the motherboard for reference: [Image1](https://tinypic.host/image/WhatsApp-Image-2025-05-08-at-13.06.24-5c6d0ba4.3U2LXv), [Image2](https://tinypic.host/image/WhatsApp-Image-2025-05-08-at-13.09.15-a1a920c2.3U2bew)

You shouldn't have any bent pins on your CPU. If you see any, it's best to exchange the motherboard for a new one. Those bent pins can definitely cause boot issues.
I've only dealt with bent pins on AMD AM5 CPUs, but for any motherboard, I recommend returning it if there's a possibility of damage. If they give you a hard time about it, just stand your ground and explain the situation.
Yeah, makes sense. I'm not sure yet if it's really the motherboard. I’ll test some other components to confirm. Just frustrating because I wanted to get everything set up today.
Sigh. So they are bent? Bended pins can cause faulty MB?
