I recently found an old PC at home and decided to give it a try. It powered on successfully, so I wanted to upgrade the RAM. It sounds like the problem might be with that 2 GB RAM stick. Since the computer turns on with the 1 GB stick, it's possible that the 2 GB stick is faulty. You could try cleaning the contacts on the 2 GB stick or testing it in another computer to confirm if it's really the issue.
