Why won’t my PC power on with the USB hub connected?

Hey everyone! I recently bought a powered USB hub for my PC so I could plug in devices that need extra juice. However, when I tried turning on my PC today with the hub connected, it wouldn't start at all. It's a decent machine, and I could see the RGB lights flicker, but no matter how many times I hit the power button, nothing happened. The hub has its own power supply and I've got a keyboard, mouse, stream deck, and a portable speaker charger plugged into it.

After some troubleshooting, I found that if I unplug the hub, my PC starts up fine. Once it's on, I can reconnect the hub without any issues. The problem seems to only happen if I try to power on the PC with the hub plugged in.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any solutions you can suggest? Thanks a ton!

It sounds like you might be dealing with a faulty hub. Did you get it from a reputable brand, or was it one of those cheap ones from Amazon? Sometimes they just don't play well with certain systems.

Thanks for the insight! I’m not sure about the brand; it looks cool but probably isn’t a big name. I used it for about two years on another PC without issues.
