This morning I used my computer for a bit and turned it off normally. For some reason, I decided to turn off the power supply at the back of the PC. When I tried to turn it back on hours later, it wouldn't start at all, no matter how many times I pressed the power button or toggled the power supply. I've even tried some troubleshooting tips I found online: I've swapped the BIOS battery, changed the RAM and video card, and attempted to power it on after leaving it unplugged for a while. I do see a light on the WLAN indicator when I plug the PC in, so it seems to have power, but nothing happens when I try to boot it up. Any ideas on what could be wrong?

I had a similar experience not long ago. It turned out to be an odd glitch; one time I unplugged the power supply from the adapter and just left it disconnected for a day. When I plugged it back in after a day, it started up fine. I still have no clue what caused it, but maybe giving it a break like that could help?
First things first, check all your cables. Make sure the power cable from the wall outlet to the PC is secure and functioning. If you’re using a modular PSU, inspect each cable connection on both ends. Also, can you clarify if there are any signs of life at all when you hit the power button? Any debug lights or fans twitching? Have you tried jumping the power pins with a screwdriver to see if that helps? It might also be worth testing your PSU with the paperclip method to verify it's still working.
Based on what you’ve explained, this might be a case of a fried motherboard. Typically, with a dead component, you'd still see at least a flicker of life, like fans twitching or error lights. Since you've tested the PSU and it works, it's likely the motherboard that's at fault. Just out of curiosity, do you use a surge protector? Sometimes dirty power can cause these kinds of issues.
