Why won’t my Ryzen 5 5600X boot after installation?

I recently upgraded from a Ryzen 5 2600 to a Ryzen 5 5600X, but I'm having trouble getting it to boot. I don't see any image on the screen after the installation. I've exhausted all my ideas for troubleshooting, so I'm hoping for some help. The CPU pins look good, and I've updated the BIOS to version F67, which supports the 5000 series. Everything works perfectly when I reinstall my old 2600. I've reinstalled both CPUs multiple times and reset the CMOS twice, but still no luck. Here are my system specs:

- Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-B450M DS3H Rev 1.0
- CPU: Ryzen 5 5600X with Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
- GPU: Asus GeForce ROG Strix Gaming GTX 1080Ti OC 11GB
- RAM: 2x G.Skill 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4, 3200 MHz
- Storage: 2x SSDs - Samsung Evo 860 250GB (Windows) and Kioxia EXCERIA 480GB
- PSU: Corsair CX650M
- Case: Fractal Define R5 Blackout Edition
- Peripherals: Keychron K2 V2 keyboard, Logitech G502 mouse, Acer Nitro VG270UP 144Hz 1440p monitor.

I'd appreciate any insights on what could be causing this issue aside from a potentially damaged CPU.

Did you clear the CMOS after installing the new CPU? Sometimes that can help resolve booting issues.

I didn’t reset the CMOS the first time, but I did it twice later and it didn’t change anything.

So let me clarify—you upgraded from Zen 2 to Zen 3 without upgrading your BIOS first? It’s kinda surprising you’re not running into issues!

I did upgrade the BIOS to F67 before I swapped out the 2600, just to be sure it was ready for the 5600X. I checked again after the new CPU didn’t work and confirmed it was still F67.

I faced a similar problem when upgrading my 5700X3D. I had to put the old CPU back in and downgrade to a slightly older BIOS to get it working again. Have you tried that yet?

I was considering that! I didn’t think it was a common solution though. Should I downgrade to an older version that still supports the 5600X?

From my experience with Gigabyte boards, some really struggle with big BIOS jumps. I'd recommend reflashing the motherboard with BIOS F62 first before trying the 5600X. It's odd, but it might just work! F60 should let the CPU function too.

So I should go back and flash to F60? I already updated to F62.
