Why won’t my SD and SATA drives mount after deleting partitions?

I was attempting to install Linux Mint on both an SD card and a SATA drive, but now I want to use them as storage again. After deleting the partitions, they show up in GParted, but I can't find them in the file explorer. The format option in GParted and the Disks app is also grayed out. What can I do to get them to mount again?

Could you give a bit more detail? Is the SD card an external slot or an internal SSD? How many storage devices are connected? I would recommend rebooting and taking screenshots of both the GParted and Disks screens for clarity. As mentioned earlier, if the partitions were deleted, you'll need to recreate them. Also, check if they’re mounted and if there are any permission settings to adjust.

Yeah, it's a Micro SD card and an external SATA SSD drive. I created a new partition, and all is good now, thanks!

It looks like when you delete the partitions, there's nothing left to format or mount. You’ll need to create new partitions and format them before they can be used. After that, they should show up just fine!

I didn't realize that! Thanks for the clarification.
