Why won’t my Windows 11 PC recognize my Ethernet cable?

Hi all! I'm having a strange issue with my Windows 11 desktop that won't recognize my Ethernet cable, even though the cable works perfectly on my laptop. Here's what's happening:

1. The cable is functional since it works on other devices.
2. My motherboard shows a blinking green light when the cable is plugged in, suggesting there's a connection to the router.
3. WiFi works fine on all my devices, so it's not a network issue.

I've tried restarting my router and even resetting my network settings, but nothing seems to help. The device manager isn't detecting the Ethernet cable at all. I even did a full Windows reinstall, but I'm still stuck. Could this be some kind of virus blocking the connection?

EDIT: I figured it out! It was a simple fix - I just unplugged the power cable from the PSU for 30 seconds and plugged it back in. Now it works!

You might want to try unplugging the cable from both ends and restarting the router for about 10-20 seconds. I had a similar issue, and a reboot did the trick. Also, check if the Ethernet port itself could be faulty.

When you say it doesn't recognize the cable, do you mean no network connections are showing up in the Network Connections menu? If that’s the case, did you turn off WiFi before plugging in the Ethernet? That can sometimes cause conflicts.

It sounds like you might be dealing with a driver issue. Make sure your network adapter drivers are up to date. Sometimes the physical network card starts failing too, so that could be worth checking out as well.
