Why won’t Steam recognize my second hard drive?

I'm having trouble getting Steam to recognize my second hard drive. I've already tried remounting it and formatting it to ext4, but nothing seems to work. When I click the '+' to add a disk on Steam, nothing happens at all. I'm currently using CachyOS and I installed Steam through the CachyOS gaming drivers. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this?

Check if the drive stays mounted after a reboot. Do you have to remount it manually, or is it accessible right away? Also, it would be helpful if you could include more details about your distro and your hardware setup. Sometimes the formatting can affect compatibility too!

Yes, the drive is still mounted after rebooting.

Don’t forget to add the storage device in Steam's settings! You need to go into the settings menu and specify your new disk for it to be recognized properly.

Are you running Steam as a Flatpak? If so, it might have limited access to your filesystem. You can give it permission to access the drive by using this command in the terminal: `flatpak override --filesystem=/path/to/disk com.valvesoftware.Steam`. Just make sure to restart Steam afterwards to apply the changes!

I tried that command, but it didn't work for me.
