Why won’t Windows 11 install while Windows 10 Home works perfectly?

I've been having a rough time with my PC recently. I've got a powerful setup: an i9 13900 processor, 32 GB of Corsair Vengeance Pro RAM, a Z790 MSI Gaming WiFi motherboard, and an RTX 4070 graphics card. Everything was running fine until about four months ago when I started getting random blue screens that showed kernel errors, along with NTFS file system errors. This progressed to a point where I hit a permanent BSOD and couldn't find a solution, even after trying various medicat tools. Eventually, I attempted to install Windows 11, but faced constant errors regarding missing or corrupted files. I then switched to Windows 10 Pro, and faced the same issues. However, when I finally installed Windows 10 Home, everything started working perfectly. Now I'm puzzled because I have a license for Windows 11 Pro, and attempts to upgrade from Windows 10 to 11 using the assistant or ISO always fail, closing after nearly completing the install. I'm currently running memtest but have already swapped the RAM sticks around. Can anyone explain why I got BSODs and why my PC only works with Windows 10 Home? This is so frustrating!

Also, it might help to check what make and model your system drive is. Sometimes compatibility issues arise there, especially with newer versions of Windows. That could reveal why 11 isn’t playing nice with your setup.

Are you using the same USB stick for all your installations? That could be part of the problem. I recommend creating a new installation USB, preferably one that's USB 3.0 or higher. Sometimes faulty drives can cause those file errors during installation.
