Hey everyone! I'm thinking about upgrading my motherboard and CPU. I currently use a cooler that handles my 10th gen Intel i9, but I suspect the Ryzen CPU will need something more robust. I'm leaning towards an air cooler since I'm a bit wary of liquid cooling due to potential leaks and I prefer low maintenance. Noise isn't an issue for me since I usually wear headphones while using my PC. My question is: will a Corsair A115 140mm Dual-Fan Twin Tower cooler keep the Ryzen 9 9900X3D cool enough? I'd really appreciate any advice since I'm pretty new to building PCs! Thanks!

Yes, but if you're considering better options, the Peerless Assassin SE cools more efficiently and is cheaper. Also, AIO coolers are generally reliable and don’t leak unless mishandled. Here’s a video that explains it all: [Check it out!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f5Yj1fcce7o&t=459s)
For gaming, the 9800X3D performs better. If you need the extra cores for work, the 9900X3D makes sense. But honestly, I’d suggest the Phantom Spirit 120 over the cooler you've picked; it's known to perform exceptionally for a similar price.
Thanks for the tip! I assumed the higher number meant better performance.
That cooler should be sufficient for the 9900X3D! Just keep in mind that the mounting hardware will be different for the AM5 socket, so make sure it comes with everything you need!
Absolutely, that should do more than enough for cooling! I have a similar setup with a 9950X3D and a 120mm cooler that keeps my temps around 70-80°C. You'll be fine!
I’m happy to hear that, thanks!

I appreciate the info! I initially avoided the Peerless because I prefer local purchases, but I’ll definitely give it some thought. I’ll also check out the video!
