Will a GTX 1060 Cause a Bottleneck with My i7 7700?

Hey everyone! I'm a newbie to PC building and I recently found an old office PC for free with an i7 7700 (non-K version). I've put in an MWE450 V2 PSU and I'm looking to upgrade to a dedicated GPU. I'm mainly interested in playing games from the early to mid-2010s at 1080p. I've seen a few cards within my budget on the used market, like the GTX 1060 6GB, GTX 970, and possibly a GTX 1660 Super if I squeeze my budget. I've considered AMD GPUs, but the prices around here are really high, with RX 580s costing almost as much as the 1660 Super! Before I make a purchase, I'm curious if I'll experience any bottleneck issues with my CPU and the GTX 1060, since I've saved up for this upgrade! Thanks!

From what I remember, back when the i7-7700 was top-tier, the GTX 1060 was a popular choice. You might face a GPU bottleneck when playing heavy graphics games, but for competitive gaming, it could flip! It's normal to have some bottlenecking in PC gaming, but many people find it tolerable and enjoy the experience!

Exactly, bottlenecking happens, but it’s part of the gaming life! Just focus on getting a card that suits your games!

Nope, the i7 7700 won’t bottleneck the GTX 1060 at all! They’re a great match in terms of performance.

I've had a GTX 1060 with an i7 7700K and they really complement each other well. They're both from around the same era and handled games fine together, even some demanding ones! Just keep the settings reasonable and you should be good to go!

Totally agree! As long as you're playing older games, you won't have issues with either component reaching their max limits.
