Hey folks! I have an ASUS Prime A320M-K motherboard that's currently running BIOS version 6210 (updated on 09/04/2023). I'm looking to upgrade my CPU and wanted to check in before I make a move. ASUS lists some Ryzen 5000 processors as compatible, but I need a little reassurance from those who have actually tried it.

Specifically, does anyone know if the Ryzen 7 5700X works well with this motherboard? Have there been any stability issues, VRM overheating, or performance drops?

Also, I'm currently using a Ryzen 5 3400G alongside a new RTX 4060 graphics card, so I'm curious— is upgrading to the 5700X worth it for gaming and overall performance? I'd appreciate any experiences or insights you have. Thanks!

Honestly, I’d recommend sticking with something like the 5600 or 5600X for that motherboard. The power delivery for the A320M-K isn’t the best, and it might not handle the 5700X properly.

But isn’t the 5700X only 65W? What's the real concern about power?

ASUS does claim that this motherboard supports the Ryzen 7 5700X. However, good luck finding someone who's tested that specific combo. It might just be a roll of the dice stick with what you know works.

Thanks for clarifying! That helps me feel a bit more secure about my choice.
