I'm considering a career as an embedded systems programmer for ISRO and I'm curious about the job market. Do embedded systems developers, particularly those in specialized fields like aerospace, have a better chance of job security against AI replacement as compared to web or app developers?

I worked in automotive and faced replacement by AI tech. It's a reality in some industries, but embedded systems might be a different ball game. They require a level of precision that AI isn't quite capable of achieving yet.

Yeah, I see embedded systems having less risk of AI takeover because of the complexities involved. Tasks there often require deep understanding and nuance that AI just doesn't handle well. While AI could assist, I don't think it will replace skilled developers in this niche.

I totally agree that the impact of a coding error is way different in embedded systems. In critical applications like aircraft or military tech, mistakes can lead to serious consequences. Companies will be cautious with AI in these areas, so I think your field might be pretty secure from AI encroachment.

It looks like embedded systems might be safer from AI for a while. AI struggles with languages like C and C++, and embedded programming often involves custom hardware and specific frameworks that aren’t well represented in training data. So, it seems like there's a good chance you won't be replaced anytime soon.
