I've got an RTX 5070 that I bought last month since my 3070 died. Currently, I'm using a Ryzen 5 3500X, which isn't cutting it. I'm looking to build an AM5 setup next year, hopefully when RAM prices drop, and I'm considering a Ryzen 9 9950X3D. I do video editing for a living and game on the side, but I also have a PS5, so I'm unsure if I should go for the 9950X3D now. Alternatively, I could upgrade my current AM4 setup to a Ryzen 7 5800X and get an AIO cooler. I could save a lot more money that way and snag the CPU and cooler on January 5. I'm really confused about what to do!

Yes, the RTX 5070 will work just fine with the Ryzen 9 9950X3D! It’s a solid pairing for gaming and video editing.
It really depends on your budget. If you want to go AM5, you’ll need to spend quite a bit on DDR5 RAM, which can range from $500 to $800. The 5070 will work with any CPU, though, so if you're fine sticking with AM4 for now, go for it!

Yeah, I get that. RAM prices are the main reason I’m hesitant to jump to AM5 right now. Guess I’ll stick with AM4 until things settle down.
