I have an iPhone 16 Pro Max and I'm covered by AppleCare, which expires this December. Unfortunately, my phone got run over by a car, leaving it completely broken. I've heard that AppleCare might replace it entirely if it's destroyed. Can anyone provide clarity on how this works?

In cases like yours, they typically provide a refurbished unit as a replacement. For issues like a shattered screen or battery problems, they might repair those instead of replacing the whole phone.
AppleCare Plus does cover accidental damage, so if you have that, they should replace your Pro phone. Just remember, regular AppleCare won't help with damage like this. Good luck!
I found this out when I visited the Apple Store for my kid's damaged phone. The standard warranty doesn't cover accidental damage.
Yeah, I’ve heard that the replacements they offer are often refurbished, but they should still work just like new.
