Will G.Skill honor my DDR5 RAM warranty?

I built my PC in November 2024, and it's been working well until recently when it started freezing and crashing every couple of minutes. I tried updating the BIOS, reinstalling Windows, and reseating the RAM. After testing each stick individually, it seems like one of my 16GB RAM modules has failed since the other one is working fine for over 24 hours now. I've reached out to G.Skill for a warranty claim, but haven't heard back yet. Has anyone had experience with RAM RMA processes lately, especially since prices have skyrocketed?

I believe they will honor the warranty without trouble. The challenging part might be what options they give you. They could either replace it with the same model, which might take some time, or offer a refund at the price you originally paid. Just keep in mind that they will probably need the faulty RAM back for inspection, leaving you without any for a bit. Let's just wait for their response!

Definitely run Memtest86 to confirm that it’s the memory causing issues. G.Skill has a lifetime warranty, so you should be able to get a replacement without any hassle.

If you bought your RAM from an authorized G.Skill retailer, you're likely covered by their warranty. The current price of RAM shouldn't affect your warranty since they have a lifetime guarantee on their products.

I've contacted their support before and it went smoothly. However, you will need to send them the faulty RAM, and likely both sticks if it was part of a kit. Expect it to take a couple of weeks to get replacements.
