Will High RAM Usage Cause FPS Drops in Games?

I'm using a Windows laptop with 8 GB of RAM, and I've noticed that during gaming sessions, my RAM usage can hit around 90%. I'm wondering if this is what causes my FPS to drop or if my game is hanging for a few seconds because of high RAM usage. I have an RTX 3050, so I'm not sure why I'm experiencing lag. Would adding another stick of RAM help fix this issue?

While the RAM is a factor, don't forget to check your CPU as well. If it's struggling to keep up with the GPU, that can lead to FPS issues too. 8 GB isn't really enough for most demanding games these days—consider adding another stick to see if that eases your performance problems.

Yeah, high RAM usage can definitely lead to FPS drops, especially with only 8 GB. Many modern games require more memory, so when you hit that 90% mark, it can slow down your system. It might not just be RAM; your CPU also plays a role here. Consider upgrading your RAM if you can. It should help smooth things out.

True! I upgraded to 16 GB, and it made a noticeable difference in performance.
