I'm planning to upgrade my setup and need some advice. I have a Ryzen 5 5500 processor, 16 GB of RAM, and an A520M motherboard ready to go. Currently, I have two SSDs filled with all my programs and files. If I swap my old Intel CPU and motherboard for these new AMD components and just plug in my drives, will I have to reinstall Windows? Or should everything work fine? Any insights would be super helpful!

It's a smart move to back up your data before making the switch. Since you're going from Intel to AMD, it's pretty likely you'll run into some issues booting your operating system. I'd recommend doing a clean install of Windows after the hardware swap to avoid any potential problems down the line. It’s better to be safe than sorry!

Got it! So, when you made the switch, did your Windows start up at all? I'm mainly storing game data on those drives too, so I might just go ahead and download Windows 11 before I do anything.
