Hey everyone, I'm 21 years old and I'm really curious about the future of artificial general intelligence (AGI) and the technological singularity. Given that the average human lifespan is around 70, I feel like AGI has to come within the next 50 years for me to experience it. But what if it doesn't happen? What are my alternatives, like cryonics or something else?

I really hope we see a technological utopia by 2047—imagine all the advancements! If we look at current trends, there's a strong chance we could have AGI before you hit your 50s, but predicting the future is tough. What do you think?
Honestly, while it's theoretically possible to see AGI in your lifetime, we can't be sure it will happen. Just remember that life isn't just about waiting for technology to save you. Instead, focus on living it to the fullest and prepare for the unexpected. Cryonics could be an option, but it’s worth keeping in mind that tech can be unpredictable.
True. It really seems like endless waiting could lead you to miss out on the life you have now!
