I'm currently using an i7-11700F with 16GB of RAM and a GTX 1660 Super. A friend is offering to sell me his RTX 5070 Ti for a good price. I'm curious to know how much my CPU might bottleneck performance at 1080p resolution in gaming. What should I expect?

Honestly, there's been some confusion about bottlenecking. If you're getting that 5070 Ti for cheap, grab it and you can always upgrade your CPU later if you feel like it's holding you back. You're basically getting a steal!
It's unlikely to bottleneck too much. It really comes down to the game and resolution. At 1440p, you’ll be fine. Even at 1080p, expect to see around 75% of the card's potential, which is way better than my old 1660 Super.
He's even throwing in his old PSU since he upgraded!
It really depends on the game you're playing, but in general, your CPU might bottleneck the RTX 5070 Ti a bit. However, you'll still see a significant performance boost over the 1660 Super, especially if your monitor's refresh rate isn't too high—under 60 to 75Hz might hold you back more than the CPU itself.
Yeah, it will bottleneck to an extent, but still, for $400, you’ll definitely notice improvements! Also, consider upgrading to a 1440p monitor later on for better GPU utilization.
I don't want to upgrade the board or CPU now, but I think I'm getting a great deal.
Even if the CPU limits some performance, you should still experience a life-changing upgrade from the 1660 Super with the new card, especially considering the low price.
For sure! This feels like a once-in-a-lifetime deal.

Exactly! It feels too good to pass up.
