Will My Current PC Setup Handle an RTX 5090 FE Upgrade?

I'm considering upgrading my graphics card from an RTX 4070 FE to a 5090 FE, but I need some advice on whether my current setup can handle it. Here's what I have:

- CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5950x
- MOBO: ASUS B550i
- RAM: Corsair Vengeance 32GB
- PSU: Corsair SF750
- Case: Meshllicious

I realize that I'll definitely need to upgrade my PSU to an SF1000 to support the 5090. Beyond that, is my entire build suitable for this upgrade?

You might want to consider upgrading your motherboard to one that supports PCIe 5.0. Definitely get a 1000W PSU as well. Also, if your budget permits, upgrading to DDR5-6000 MHz RAM could be beneficial.

100%. Spending around $300 for a slight performance boost seems worth it. Check this out for more info: (https://youtu.be/L1NPFFRTzLo?si=0VYl2R1VGl4qUiQK)

I used to have a 5950x with a 4080, and after switching to a 9800X3D, the performance jump was massive. I think your CPU might bottleneck the 5090 pretty significantly, so keep that in mind before making the jump.

Thanks for the response! I'm leaning towards holding off on the 5090 for now since upgrading other components will be a big investment.
