Hey everyone! I recently bought an SSD to install in my laptop for improved performance, but I'm a bit worried. I currently have an HDD with all my files on it. If I install the operating system on the SSD, will my HDD files be unaffected? Should I remove the HDD during the installation process, or can I just leave it in? Any advice would be appreciated!

No worries! You can definitely install the OS on the SSD without touching your HDD. Just remember to set the SSD as the primary boot device after installation. This way, you’ll have everything set up nicely, and you can transfer files between the drives easily.
As long as you're installing the OS on the SSD and not formatting the HDD, your files will be fine. Just double-check the boot order in your BIOS/UEFI to make sure it boots from the SSD after installation. This way, your HDD will still have all its data intact.
Your HDD files should be safe! You don't have to remove the HDD, but it's a good idea to unplug it while installing the OS on the SSD to avoid any boot flag issues. After installing, you can reconnect the HDD and then copy over your files. Just make sure you have an enclosure if you plan to wipe the HDD later on.
