Will My PC Build Handle 1440p Gaming? Plus, What GPU Cooler Should I Get?

I've put together a PC build and want to know if it will work for gaming at 1440p. I mostly play esports titles and games like World of Warcraft, but I'm also looking forward to single-player games such as Witcher 4 when it releases. Since I don't have specific requirements for the newer games yet, I'm uncertain if my setup will hold up. I've already stretched my budget to get these parts, so I'd appreciate any advice on the following: I don't know much about GPU coolers—do I need one? Are there any major issues in my build that would limit performance at 1440p? Should I start with 1080p gaming since I'll upgrade my monitor later? Will this build remain viable for a few years at 1440p? I'm also curious if there's room for future upgrades with my current setup. Thanks for the help!

To make your build more future-proof, definitely consider a larger PSU. Also, starting with 1080p is fine, but you'll want to make sure your GPU can handle 1440p when you're ready to upgrade your monitor. Just keep an eye on those performance charts for titles you play!

Thanks for the heads-up! I’ll keep an eye on the GPU performance details as I make my upgrades.

Your build looks solid overall, but I’d recommend bumping up to an 850W power supply. Since you're into esports, having a monitor with at least 144Hz at 1440p will definitely enhance your experience and keep your frame rates high, which is crucial for competitive games.

Good point! Having the right PSU makes a huge difference for future upgrades too.

GPUs usually come with their own coolers, so you might not need to buy a separate one unless you plan on overclocking. However, the choice of CPU in your build might not be the best fit. Can you clarify what you mean by 'odd' regarding your CPU choice?

I went with an AMD CPU because it’s within my budget, and it supports my RAM's AMD EXPO feature. If you have a better recommendation, I'd love to hear it!
