I'm planning to use an ASRock B550 motherboard with my Ryzen 5 5600 CPU, but I'm a bit nervous about compatibility since the motherboard doesn't have BIOS flashback. I don't own a 3rd gen CPU for a potential update, and there aren't any PC repair shops nearby. Should I return the motherboard for one that has BIOS flashback, or is it safe to go ahead and build it? Any advice would be appreciated!

If it's a brand new ASRock board, there's often a sticker on the BIOS chip that shows the version installed. So, once you get your motherboard, just take a look at that to see if it’s already compatible.
Check the BIOS chip on the motherboard; there should be a sticker that tells you the version. Generally, any ASRock board made after November 2022 should already support the Ryzen 5 5600, which was released around that time.
