Will putting a small magnet on my smartphone damage it?

Hey everyone! I'm looking to attach my phone to my fridge using a couple of small, coin-sized magnets that are about 1-2mm thick and 2cm wide. Before I go ahead with this, I wanted to check if this could cause any damage to my phone. I know I've heard something about magnets affecting compasses, but I've never used a compass, so that's not really a concern for me. Appreciate any insights you can give! Thanks!

I found a dual magnet phone holder online that seems safe. If you use magnets, just keep them centered on the phone, away from the top where the antenna is. Otherwise, you should be fine!

Be careful, though! Some magnets can wipe phone data. It might be safer to use adhesive instead of relying solely on magnets.

It really depends on where you place the magnets. Avoid areas near the microphone and speakers since they have their own magnets. If you keep the magnets away from those parts, you should be good to go!

Got it! I'll make sure to place them more towards the middle of the phone, away from the edges.

I’ve heard that using glue for your setup might be a more reliable option. Just a thought!

Actually, many phone accessories like popsockets are magnetic, so your phone should be just fine with those small magnets. It's pretty common for phones to handle magnets without issues.

Yeah, and when I was at the media store, all the phones on display were attached with strong magnets, too. They looked pretty secure!
