Will Resetting My PC Fix Issues After Editing the Registry?

I recently made some changes in the Windows 11 registry (can't remember exactly what) and since then, my PC has been acting up. Even though I never set a password, it keeps asking for one, which is really annoying. Also, my computer won't go to sleep; when I hit sleep, the screen goes black but it doesn't actually sleep and wakes up again after a second without sound until I restart it. On top of that, when I shut down the computer, the monitor turns on and off repeatedly. Do you think resetting the PC will help resolve these issues? If so, what should I consider before doing it?

In theory, resetting your PC should solve the problem. Just a heads-up, in the future, it’s best to avoid messing around in the registry unless you know what you're doing—maybe back up first next time!

The 'in theory' part is making me feel more confident about this!

Yes, using the "Reset This PC" option will definitely fix this. If your sleep and login issues are due to the registry changes, Windows won't fix itself automatically. A reset returns everything to default settings and removes whatever you changed. You can choose 'Keep my files' if you want to save your data, and it will still reinstall Windows and reset system settings. If you prefer a clean slate, go for 'Remove everything' for a full wipe. Just remember to back up anything important first!
