Will upgrading my GPU cause a bottleneck?

I'm considering upgrading my graphics card from a 2060 to a 5070, but I'm not sure if this will lead to any bottlenecks in performance. I've looked at various sources online, but the information is all over the place. I'd love to hear any insights or suggestions from others who have experience with this kind of upgrade. Just as a note, I'm planning to upgrade my power supply to a 1000W Gold+ rated unit, since my current 700W is pushing its limits.

Your 5900X CPU shouldn't hold back the 5070 at all. As for your power supply, it's okay as it is, but upgrading might give you some peace of mind since it’s getting older.

The concept of a bottleneck is generally overblown. For instance, I use an RTX 5080 paired with a 5900X and it runs perfectly fine. You might not get the absolute peak performance out of the 5070 with your current setup, but you’ll still see solid performance in most games. Also, your current 700W PSU should handle everything well under load.

It’s hard to pinpoint bottlenecks because it doesn’t come down to one single number. Those "bottleneck calculators" are mostly useless and just designed for ad revenue. If you're upgrading your GPU, go for it! You can use it with your current setup, and if problems arise, you can address them then.
