I built my PC about four years ago using an Intel setup, but now I'm looking to upgrade from an RTX 3060 to an RX 9070 XT. Eventually, I want to switch to AMD, but right now, I can't justify spending on a new motherboard, RAM, and CPU along with the GPU. My main question is whether I can stick with my current CPU without experiencing significant performance drops. I primarily play single-player games and want to enjoy 1440p graphics with all the settings turned up. If upgrading the CPU is necessary to get the most out of my new GPU for the next 2-4 years, I'm open to that, but I hope I can manage with what I have.

You might experience a slight bottleneck, but it shouldn't be too noticeable. Once you swap in the new GPU, check your framerates and see if the GPU is being fully utilized. For single-player games at 1440p, a CPU upgrade may not be necessary right away, especially if you're still hitting good frame rates with the 3060.
Upgrading your GPU will definitely give you a performance boost. You may not max out graphics, but it should still feel good overall. If you wait a bit, the newer CPU models could be more affordable with better performance by then. Right now, you don't need to stress over a CPU upgrade unless it's causing a significant slowdown.
You're probably good sticking with your current setup! The bottleneck won't be huge, and you should still enjoy decent performance. Just keep an eye on your GPU utilization after the upgrade.

Thanks for the tips! How can I check if I'm bottlenecking after the upgrade? Also, what's the difference between the 14600K and 14600KF?
