My GPU is Maxed Out by a Mysterious .dat File—What Should I Do?

I recently bought an ASUS TUF A15 laptop with a 3050 GPU, and I've run into a strange problem. There's a file named x902007.dat that's using 100% of my GPU for some reason. I suspect it might be malware since I haven't downloaded anything unofficial since I got the laptop. I tried removing it in safe mode, but it just reappears. Does anyone know how to fix this?

First off, how's a .dat file even using your GPU? Can you take a screenshot to show what you're seeing? That might help track down the issue better.

You should run a Microsoft Defender Offline scan. It boots up before Windows loads and scans everything. That might catch the pesky file you're dealing with.

I just did that scan, and it found a Trojan linked to those .dat files. I was able to delete it, and now my GPU usage is stable again. Thanks so much for the tip!

Instead of just guessing, I'd recommend running Windows Defender. It's a good starting point for malware issues.
