Why is my PC not booting after RAM upgrade?

Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle here. I have a B450M Steel Legend motherboard and was happily running with a single 8GB DDR4 3600MHz stick from Asgard. Today, I decided to upgrade and installed two new Corsair Vengeance LPX sticks (2x16GB, also DDR4 3600MHz). I put them in the second and fourth slots (A2 and B2) but now my PC powers on with no display. It runs for about 40 seconds and then goes into this weird power cycling loop. I tried switching back to the old RAM, but it's doing the same thing! I'm really confused and could use some guidance. Did I do something wrong?

Try removing the RAM and clearing the CMOS, then put the RAM back in. If it doesn't work after that, you might need to return the Corsair sticks and try a different brand.

How do I clear the CMOS? I’ve heard about it but never done it before.

It might be going through memory training, so just take a break and leave it alone for a while. It's a bit nerve-wracking if you aren't familiar with it, but it could just need some time to sort things out.

Should I leave both RAM sticks in during this memory training, or just one? Just trying to make sure I've got this right.

Yep, definitely walk away for a bit and give it time. It can be a little unsettling, but it's usually fine.
