I currently have my operating system installed on a 256 GB SATA SSD and I recently added a 1 TB NVMe SSD to my setup. Since the SATA SSD primarily holds just the OS, I'm considering whether I should transfer my OS to the NVMe. However, I've heard that keeping the OS on a separate drive might be a better option, and I want to know if I would encounter any issues by making this change.

Definitely plug in your NVMe, unplug the SATA, and do a fresh Windows install. You can always reconnect the SATA later and transfer your important files. This way, you set up the NVMe as your main drive right from the start.
Honestly, you probably won't notice a difference if you leave it on the SATA SSD. If it works well, why bother?
Your OS should really be on the fastest drive in your system, so yes, transfer your OS to the NVMe. Keeping it on a separate drive hasn't really been recommended in a long time. Go for it!
You could always just leave it as is if your SATA SSD is fast enough. It's not really a big deal to switch but if you're due for a reinstall, that's when you can move it over.
Starting fresh is always a good idea! Just do a clean install on that NVMe SSD for the best performance.
That makes sense! I'll consider reinstalling to get the most out of it.
I always thought it was better to keep the OS separate; thanks for the clarification!
