Struggling to Turn My UI Design into a Functional Website

Hey everyone! I learned front-end development last year, starting with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Then I dove into React and worked on a few projects before switching to back-end development with Node.js. I kicked off my back-end project for a web-based game I've been planning for ages, and that went really well. But now that I'm back to the front-end, having picked up Next.js to leverage its features, I'm facing a huge wall. I can create a UI design (thanks to some AI assistance), but when it comes to translating it into a functional website, I'm completely lost! I can't seem to remember the basics of layout design at all. While I'm still confident with logic and code, design just feels impossible right now. Any advice on how to overcome this?

Have you thought about using AI tools, like ChatGPT? They can really simplify front-end development for you. You can get help with layouts and UI designs. Just tweak things to fit your needs afterward!

I tried using Claude, and it's decent, but I find ChatGPT needs a bit more guidance to get things right. What model are you using? I'm on o4-mini-high, but I'm not impressed so far.

It sounds like you might just not be a designer, and that's okay! Good design requires understanding some fundamentals. Maybe consider collaborating with a designer to bring your visions to life instead of struggling on your own.
