My PC is super slow after upgrading to a 5070 GPU!

I recently upgraded my GPU from a 4060 to a 5070 and now my PC is running really slow and choppy. I went into safe mode to uninstall my old drivers with DDU and then reinstalled the latest NVIDIA drivers, but my boot time is way longer compared to when I was using the 4060, and it sometimes just freezes up. Here are my specs: Windows 11 Pro, Asus B760-I motherboard, Nvidia 5070 GPU, 850W Corsair PSU, 32GB DDR5 RAM, and a 2.5 TB SSD. I didn't have any issues before the upgrade, so I'm looking for any help to get it running smoothly again!

That's weird! Usually, upgrading within the same brand should be smooth sailing. Have you thought about rolling back to an older driver version? NVIDIA has been putting out some sketchy updates lately. Also, try clearing your shader caches for Steam and Windows; that might help too!

I did try an older driver, but I just crashed at the desktop and didn't even get a display. My motherboard powers up fine, all the lights are on, and the CPU and GPU fans are spinning, but absolutely no display.

Just curious, what's your power supply like? That could be a factor in performance issues after a GPU upgrade.

It's a Platinum-rated 850W Corsair PSU, fully modular.
