How Many Years Can I Expect My Gaming PC Build to Last?

I recently bought a custom-built gaming PC from a friend for $2,000. He hardly used it and included the build receipt and warranty from the company that created it. The specs include an NVIDIA RTX 4080 Super, an Intel i9-14900K processor, 32GB of RAM, and 2TB of storage, and it's just over a year old. I've been playing Fortnite at 240 FPS and doing some schoolwork. How long can I realistically expect this build to last me if I want to continue gaming at 1440p?

This build should last you quite a while! I had a mid-range setup that lasted me about 6-7 years before I felt the need to upgrade. Just keep an eye on your performance, and don't rush to upgrade until the games you're interested in can't run smoothly anymore. It's all about your gaming preferences!

Totally agree. I've been running a lower spec PC since 2020 and only just started thinking about upgrading now. Sometimes, if it works for your needs, there's no rush!
