Got Rejected for a Job – Should I Apply Again at a Lower Level?

Hey everyone, I recently got rejected for a level 2 ADC position and I thought I did fairly well during the interview process. I had the right clearance and felt knowledgeable enough to answer most of the questions. Maybe they were looking for something more? I was really nervous and I don't think I was as concise as I could have been. If I apply for a similar position at a lower level, will it look bad on my part? Any advice?

It’s definitely tough to go through job rejection, but don’t be too hard on yourself. Sometimes, employers have lots of great candidates, and it just boils down to personal presentation or even luck. If you think you can align better with another position, don’t hesitate to apply!

As a former hiring manager, I’ve been in situations where two candidates seemed perfect for the role but I had to reject one. It doesn’t always reflect on your skills but rather the competitive nature of the job market.
