Help Choosing Between a 5080 and 4070ti Super for My PC Build

Hey everyone! I'm gearing up to build my first PC and I'm trying to decide on a GPU. I initially got a recommendation for the PNY OC 5080, which looked like a solid choice for its price. However, I've been hearing mixed opinions—some folks say the 5080 isn't worth it and that I should go for the 4070ti Super instead. As a newbie, I'm feeling a bit perplexed and would really appreciate any guidance. Just for clarity, the prices in my area are around $1050 for the 5070ti and $1350 for the 5080. I have a decent budget since I'm aiming for 4K gaming at 90+ fps and high fps at 1440p. How much of a difference would the 5080 make for my setup? Thanks!

I’d honestly recommend the 4070ti Super if you’re looking to save some cash. It’s a great card for gaming at 1440p and should handle most games quite well. Unless you’re dead set on 4K gaming now, the 5080 might not be necessary right away. You can always upgrade later if you find you need more power.

Thanks for your input! I'm trying to balance between future-proofing and not overspending right now.

Honestly, if you're aiming for 4K gaming at high frame rates, the 5080 could be worth the investment. It generally offers better performance than the 4070ti Super, especially at high resolutions. If you can spend the extra cash and really want to future-proof your build, I'd say go for the 5080. But if you're on a tighter budget, the 4070ti Super should still give you great performance at 1440p.

Yeah, that's a good point. If you plan to stick with 4K for a while, investing in the 5080 might be smart. But the 4070ti Super is still a beast for 1440p.
