I've been programming on desktops for work, but now I'm considering a laptop for personal projects so I can work from various places like the couch or bed. I'm curious about the experience. Is the smaller keyboard a hassle? I feel like it might be cramped to use.

I've always used laptops and they work great. You can connect an external monitor, keyboard, and mouse when needed, so it’s like having a desktop setup if you want. Laptops give you flexibility to switch between being on the couch and a more traditional work setup without being stuck in one place.

True, but desktops can be more productive and easier to manage too.
