Why Does My PC Randomly Shut Off While Gaming?

I've been experiencing random shutdowns with my PC while playing certain games, which isn't related to high-demand titles. I can play games like Apex, Valorant, and Guild Wars 2 without any issues, but when I dive into Fortnite, Ready or Not, or Backrooms Escape Together, my PC just powers off completely—no error screens, nothing. Here are my specs:

- B550AM Gaming Motherboard
- AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
- AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT
- 16GB RAM (planning to upgrade to 32GB)
- 222GB SSD (looking for an upgrade)
- 1.8TB Harddrive (where all my games are installed)
- Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3168 Wifi receiver
- EVGA 600W Gold PSU

I would really appreciate any help figuring this out!

It sounds like your PC shutting down could be a power supply issue, which is pretty common in these situations. Your EVGA 600W PSU is a good choice, but not all models are equal. Check the model number; it might not genuinely deliver 600W under load. Sometimes a non-demanding game can use more power than expected, so try using Radeon Chill to cap the FPS at 30-40 in those problematic games and see if that helps. If it does, consider getting a new PSU!

The model number for my PSU is 'EVGA 600 GD'. I also just updated my post to clarify my motherboard is the B550AM Gaming.

Overheating might also be the culprit. Check your CPU and GPU temperatures before they shut down. Sometimes, even if you can play other games for hours, certain titles might push your hardware just enough to overheat and trigger a shutdown.

I don't think it's overheating because I can play Apex for hours with no issues. It's just those three specific games that cause the shutdowns, regardless of the temperatures.
