Hey everyone, I'm just starting out in the tech world and I'm torn between diving into programming or design. Can anyone give me a rundown of the key differences, what training I should seek, and the topics I would cover in each field? I'm also curious about what tools and software are typically used, and what the day-to-day work looks like for both paths.

Although I'm still in university studying Computer Science, I’ve learned a lot from interviewing and exploring web dev vs. web design industries. For web design, you’ll be using tools like Figma to create user interfaces, but you won’t be coding much. On the other hand, if you go into web development, you should brush up on HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for the front end, while back-end development involves working with databases and frameworks like React or Node.js. Personally, I'm more into web development because I love the process of building and seeing my projects come to life. Just follow what excites you the most!
