I started working on my PC build about a year ago and aimed to upgrade to the Ryzen 5700X3D CPU, which was an excellent budget option for AM4 boards at that time. However, the price has nearly doubled from around $200! Now the combined cost of upgrading the CPU and motherboard feels pretty steep. I'm hoping to find a comparable CPU within the $200 range, and I can stretch my budget to about $250 if needed. My goal is to get better performance for at least 1440p gaming and I'm planning to pair it with a 9060 XT GPU. Any suggestions?

The Ryzen 7600 performs similarly to the 5700X3D, and it lets you upgrade to the AM5 platform, which is a solid move for the future. Pairing the 7600 with the 9060 XT 16GB would be a fantastic combo! But if sticking with AM4 is a must, then a used X3D might be worth considering.

Yeah, I hear you! I'm really stuck on AM4 for now unless I decide to upgrade my motherboard too. Thanks for the insights! I'll keep the AM5 option in mind for later.
