Help! My Browser’s Search Engine Got Hijacked

I accidentally installed a file that's changed my search engine to a sketchy one called 'safety search.' It keeps overriding my settings, and I think my web browser might be hijacked. I'm using Windows 10 and even tried to uninstall Chrome but it didn't work. Now I can't reinstall it or get rid of this annoying search engine. Can anyone help me fix this?

You should uninstall any suspicious software you might have installed along with that file. After that, run a full virus and malware scan to ensure your system is clean.

First off, check your Chrome extensions. Sometimes they can be the source of the issue, and you might find something dodgy there. Just go to Chrome settings and see what you've got installed.

If it's throwing up things like 'Norton safe search' on Edge, that's a sign of something sneaky. You might need to reset your browser settings or reinstall Edge, too. Try doing that if possible.
