I recently built my own PC, but I'm struggling with high CPU temperatures that reach between 89 and 99 degrees Celsius. I've checked everything else, and nothing else seems to be overheating—just the CPU. I've been following various troubleshooting videos on YouTube, but nothing has worked so far. By the way, I'm using an AMD Ryzen 5 Phenix processor. Any ideas on how to lower these temps?

I don’t mean to sound rude, but did you take the plastic off the CPU cooler? It seems silly, but it happens! That could definitely mess with your cooling performance.
Another possibility is the thermal paste wasn't applied evenly or the cooler itself isn't making good contact. Take another look at the installation because even a small misalignment can lead to higher temps.
It sounds like there could be a couple of different reasons for those high temps. First off, check if the thermal paste is applied correctly; sometimes too little or too much can cause issues. Also, make sure the CPU cooler is mounted properly and that the fan is working efficiently. If you haven't done so already, consider upgrading to a larger fan, and make sure your case has good airflow. If the temps keep climbing, you might want to try re-seating the CPU and reapplying the thermal paste just to be safe.

I just put fresh thermal paste on and cleaned out dust, but I have good fans and a case designed for airflow, so it shouldn't be that. I might just need to double-check the cooler installation.
