So, my friend just sent me a message about what I owe him from the weekend, and I noticed there was an Apple Pay option right in the chat. I've heard of sending money with Apple Pay, but can someone explain how it actually works? Do I need to set it up separately, or will it automatically use a card I have saved? Also, does my friend need to do anything to receive the payment? This seems super handy for sending cash without needing to share Venmo info.

Unfortunately, I can't even use it where I live in the EU 😢
It’s called Apple Cash! Think of it like Venmo or Cash App, but it's all through Apple. Just a heads up, you’ll need to set it up first before you can send money directly in iMessage.
And don’t forget, you can also use it as a debit card wherever they accept Visa debit. Super convenient!
Yep, it’s similar to Venmo but it’s less public. In the US, Apple Cash is actually really user-friendly and secure. Just make sure you’ve added a payment method to get started!

From what I've heard, it's probably not coming to Europe anytime soon since Apple would need to basically act like a bank, and that's a whole regulatory mess.
