How Can I Restore the Windows 10 Right-Click Context Menu in Win11 24H2?

I've been upgrading several of my Windows 10 Pro machines to Windows 11 Pro, and while the upgrade went smoothly, I'm having trouble restoring the full right-click context menu that includes the 'Send To' option. I've already replaced the Windows 11 versions of Paint and Notepad with the Windows 10 versions. I've added the registry key "HKCUSOFTWARECLASSESCLSID{86ca1aa0-34aa-4e8b-a509-50c905bae2a2}InprocServer32" as suggested in some guides I found, but I'm still not seeing the complete context menu unless I click "More." Since I upgraded to version 24H2 just recently, is there an updated registry edit or any other solution to fix this? Thanks for your help!

I get why you're frustrated! The fact that Microsoft hid common options behind an extra click is just silly. It's like they want to make things harder for users! But the reason they did this is mainly to reduce system slowdowns caused by context menu extensions that many applications add. By limiting the menu, they aim to improve overall performance.

Totally with you on that! I held off on upgrading from Windows 10 too, mainly because of stuff like this. But with support ending, I had to make the jump.

For future installs, check out Chris Titus' tool to streamline Windows behavior. It's really helpful!

Thanks for the suggestion! But I'm looking to do this specific adjustment manually, if I can.

Bringing executables from the previous version could lead to patches being missed. Just a thought!

That's a good point! I'm assuming this is just a personal project, not for work, so I'm experimenting a bit.

Pro tip: If you right-click a file or folder a second time, the old menu actually shows up! It's a little workaround if you're in a hurry.

Yeah, I heard about that! I think if you hold down CTRL while clicking, it might also bring up the full menu. But I just wanted a straight-up right-click option.

Make sure your registry key is set to 0! If you didn't do that, it won't apply correctly. I learned the hard way!

Absolutely right! Setting it to 0 fixed it for me. I read a few conflicting articles, and some said to leave the value as is. Thanks for the tip!
