How Can I Stop My Apple Devices from Connecting to Wi-Fi Automatically?

I'm trying to manage my network connections better. Recently, I reset my router to start fresh, but I keep facing a frustrating issue. Whenever I connect my iPhone to the Wi-Fi, it automatically shares the network details with my other Apple devices, causing everything to connect at once. This makes it difficult for me to name and organize them since I can't differentiate between them. I believe this might have something to do with password sharing or automatic connections. Is there a way to prevent my devices from connecting without my permission?

The problem is more about your devices auto-connecting to known networks rather than just sharing passwords. On each device, find the SSID for your network and disable the Auto Join feature. It should help reduce the chaos of multiple devices connecting at the same time.

I had to power off all my devices before I changed the SSID and password. It was such a hassle since they all kept connecting automatically as soon as one turned on.

Also, turning off Bluetooth while you're working on this can help, as that’s another way the devices share information.

To stop your devices from connecting automatically, head to the Wi-Fi settings on each Apple device. Select your network and make sure to turn off the 'Auto Join' feature. You should also disable iCloud Keychain since that syncs your Wi-Fi passwords across devices.

You can fix this by disabling iCloud Keychain on your devices. This will stop them from sharing network credentials.

Make sure you also turn off iCloud Keychain to prevent any automatic exchanges. Here’s a support link for guidance: https://support.apple.com/en-us/109016.
