I need some help! Our small company lost access to our old website domain when it expired, and nobody knew how to renew it. We've created a new website, but the old one still appears in Google search results. We don't have access to the old site anymore, and it doesn't even have any of our contact info listed. What can we do to remove it from the search results? Here's the old site: https://riversideinnlakecowichan.com/ and the new one is https://theriversidehotelandpub.com/.

The good news is that if the old website isn’t accessible, Google will typically drop it from its search results eventually. However, if it’s still showing up, it might be worth checking if someone else has taken over that domain. It can take a while for Google to re-index the site without updates from the original owner, so just hang tight!

Unfortunately, it’s already been taken over by someone else for almost two years, so it’s likely that it will stick around longer in the results.

If someone else owns the domain now, you might want to file a copyright violation complaint with GoDaddy regarding your logos. They also accept reports of impersonation, so that could help speed up the process of getting it removed. You can check this link for more info: https://supportcenter.godaddy.com/abusereport.
