I'm considering switching my LAMP project from shared hosting to CloudWays. Has anyone had experience with them? I'm a bit worried about reliability and infrastructure support, especially concerning downtime. What are the pros and cons?

Honestly, I wouldn't recommend CloudWays. Their aggressive marketing is annoying, and the pricing structure is confusing. Like, if you're using a Digital Ocean Managed service for $10, CloudWays charges around $40 on top of that! The managed services are inconsistent too, and it's a hassle to manage your payment methods. They don't even let you change your credit card unless you delete your account—total red flag for me.
I've used CloudWays for a while now, and honestly, it's been a mixed bag. While tech support is solid, customer support has taken a downturn. One major issue to watch out for is the Rackspace email add-on; there were severe email deliverability problems with Microsoft blacklisting their IP addresses for months. If you're serious about emails, steer clear of that add-on!

One downside is that you don't get root access. If you need total control over your environment, it might not be the best fit.
For super basic websites, it's been okay, but if your project relies on a specific framework, you might find their options limited. Personally, I've moved my webapp over to Vercel, which has been awesome. Not LAMP, but it works perfectly for what I need.
I’m mainly using HTML, CSS, and some JavaScript, so it seems like it should fit my needs.
