How Can My Dad See All My Search History?

Hey everyone, I'm 24M and I just found out that my dad can see all my search history, which is super concerning. I use a TP-Link router and I've tried to check the history myself but couldn't figure it out. I logged into the router IP (http://192.168.0.1) but didn't find anything useful. Does anyone know how he could be seeing my search history?

It sounds like your dad might have access to your Google account if you're sharing it, or his browser could be logged into your account. Have you checked if that's the case? That would explain how he sees your searches.

Just curious, how do you know he can see your history? Did he actually mention specific searches you did, or was it just vague comments? That could indicate how deep he’s actually monitoring.

Good point! If he only knows certain sites but not specific searches, it might not be as intrusive.

He might be monitoring either through your router settings or using some software. Many routers can log traffic, so it could be worth checking any security software or even DNS settings if you use a local DNS server.

Yeah, some routers have pretty extensive logging features. It’s definitely a possibility.

Also, make sure you’re not using shared devices where he could just check your browsing history directly.

You might want to consider using a VPN or a different DNS, like Google or Cloudflare. That could add a layer of privacy. But remember, if you’re using shared devices or networks, it’s tough to hide your activity completely.

Do you live together? If so, he could just be checking directly on your devices. Also, is it a PC or your phone? Different devices have different tracking methods.
