Hey everyone! I have a bit of a challenge here. The computers at my workplace don't have OneDrive, and I can't install any software that needs admin permissions. I need a quick way to sync data and project files from my desktop at work to a USB key whenever I plug it in.
Online storage services won't work well since our network connection is really slow—uploading large 3D files would take forever! So what's the best way to automate transferring files to my USB without facing these issues? Thanks!

Is your desktop a work computer? Depending on company policy, transferring files might be restricted. Make sure to double-check what you can do before trying any methods.
You could try using Windows Briefcase if you still have access to it. Otherwise, check out Microsoft's SyncToy; it's a free tool that syncs folders between your PC and USB without needing admin rights. Just set it up to run when you connect your USB, and it should handle the syncing for you!
I don't think Briefcase is still around since Windows 7—it got replaced by OneDrive, so that could be a problem.
If all else fails, just plug both devices in and literally copy and paste the files over! It’s not automated, but it’s the quickest solution if you're in a hurry.
Yep, it’s a work desktop. I don’t have a home work computer to use.
